When people say it would be red, it would be so red that you wouldn’t be asking. It would also be really hot to the touch. It’d be unmistakable. I guess it could be the beginning but it’s probably just pip. It can happen if you just pin a different part of the muscle too

Update: I just finished squatting and the area where I had my sleeve on has remained indented. It’s also feeling quite itchy

You just seem like a hypochondriac. Go to the doctor or just deal with it, those are your choices

Nothing about that pic looks like an infection.

Honestly I was too lazy to read every reply, just skimmed a few. Has anyone mentioned you may be allergic to the oil used? I pinned gear for 5 weeks on a cruise that left me unable to walk almost. Had no issues with test levels so the test was definitely in there, but the oil/ additives used to brew were rejected heavily by my body. Had bright red, hot to the touch, circle on my quad about 4 inches in diameter about an inch under my injection spot. Thought it was an infection but whatever reaction I had passed in a week.

Also I pin quads 90% of the time. Tried the same gear in my delt and couldn’t move my arm much for 5 days. If its that severe Id suggest getting your test elsewhere. Not worth the pain.

I don’t think it’s possible for only one of his legs to be allergic bro

Update: I’m currently in the hospital, ultrasound shows I have an abscess in my quad that needs to be drained

Not even sure what to do? Will I be able to get back on the horse right away or will it take a lot of time?

I’m the person being referenced earlier in this thread, the same thing happened to me and it took 3-4 days and some small surgeries before I was back to normal but within a week everything was as good as new. I highly recommend taking as many IV antibiotics as they let you and make sure you get a combination of orals, ideally something like clindamycin and cephalexin. Also avoid heavy leg work until you’re done with the antibiotics they give you to ensure you don’t tear anything and have the infection spread. Good luck though man I hope everything turns out okay for you.

Did you stay on cycle? How long before you were able to train again? Was it painful to pack the wound with gauze and shower?

I’ve told every single person who’s walked in the room lol. Some were cool some were iffy but generally they’ve all understood. I’ve gotten my leg drained already so I’m just taking IV antibiotics

I would’ve never assumed that was an infection bro. Sterile access, maybe, but I doubt they would bother to check or tell you. I’d wager more than half the guys here have had worse reactions. You did the right thing though. Better to be safe and put your mind at ease. Good luck my man, get better.

Wow. Very surprised to read this. Do you think your injection technique was not sterile or was it the gear?

I’m guessing technique. The gear went into my left leg on Wednesday with no problems

How did they confirm the infection? Injection depots will show up in x-rays and mri’s especially right after. Unless they send the mass for testing there was a chance that you didn’t need to get your leg cut open and drained.

FYI, for others, you’ll want to let the doc know you injected something. You don’t want to get a false positive for something and end up getting cut open or something worse. Especially for guys that have been pinning for awhile you most likely have calcified granuloma near your pin sites.

They did an ultrasound when I first arrived.

I stayed on cycle the whole time and even continued daily Tren Ace injections when I was in the hospital (once I had my own room). I trained everything except legs as normal as soon as I was discharged, although I did drop deadlifts from back day for a week just to ensure I wasn’t causing any damage from overworking my legs; I took a full 10-12 days off legs, basically the entire course of my antibiotics, and since then have been training them like I usually do. I maybe should’ve given my body some more time to rest rather than going straight to training everything else just for sake of speeding up the healing process and because the antibiotics definitely made me feel nauseous and more light-headed than usual while working out, but that was really only the first 2-3 days.

The pain was horrible before I was in the ER and also while in the ER before they gave me painkillers, afterwards I was prescribed painkillers as well but barely used them as the pain itself was fairly mild after, I think you’ll manage just fine even with gauze and showers it’ll just be a little uncomfortable at first.

Yeah they drained me yesterday and I’m already better at walking today. They wanna keep me one more day to observe but I think I’ll be out soon. Pain has reduced by a ton. Definitely avoiding pinning quads from now on. Sticking to glutes
