Shit I even use silicone stoppers and superior flip tops w waterproof labels. Serological pipettes for fill consistency and I’ve been considering a bottle top dispenser.

I don’t understand the animosity? Seriously not taking a position here just trying to understand. Why assume he’s trying to source? And if he is - the problem is that he wasn’t open about it?

I kind of feel like as a harm prevention board we should try to help fools not hurt themselves.

As far as sterilizing vials rinse, put unside down on a pan and in the oven @350 celcius for an hour…stoppers in hydrogen peroxide for 10 minutes…

Bro…350 Celsius for an hour? That’s over 650 degrees and sterilization protocol for dry heat sterilizers indicate 375 Fahrenheit for 15 minutes. Sterilizing cycles measured in hours are usually closer to 250 degrees Fahrenheit.

Also, peroxide doesn’t sterilize shit, and setting the vials on the cooking sheet is asinine. Aluminum foil is fully autoclavable and used in sterilizations procedures all the time. Better to set the vials top up with foil over the top. I hope you’re not brewing your own gear.

As for the crimper, I got a cheap chinese one which I realize may not hold up but for my purposes I think it’ll be fine, for $60 with 10 vials it seemed like a good deal and I’ve heard they’re all the same. I’m sure the one you have is nicer but how nice could they get?

Yea you can do the stoppers in the oven with dry heat bags but you need to research what temperatures the stoppers hold up to. This is another reason I use silicone, they can withstand much higher heat for much longer than is needed to be sterile. 15 minutes at 375 will typically turn a chemical indicator strip on.

Hey everybody. I am going to buy a crimper and a bottle top filtration set up so I can sterilize and cap all my own vials so I can make my next cycle. I am doing it this way because I care about time. By the way I have some extra if you wanna buy ya know just sayin.

Guys have done homebrews in their fucking car and you think it’s difficult to pressure cook some vials and keep things sterile for 10 minutes while you transfer oil to vials.
