Lay on your left side and lift your right leg toward the ceiling, feel the hip area for the muscle that contracts to move the leg. Pin that chunk of meat.
I was impatient this morning and ending up injecting where the first x was near my pant line.

Didn’t feel too good going in so I did delt injection this time.

All those ventroglute diagrams on google and YouTube are inaccurate. After looking at them I thought where I injected was the correct spot.

I did do your trick and when I felt the muscle contract it was in the spot where the second x above the pant line is… still not sure I know where exactly

When I lifted the leg where it contracted ( second x from pant line ) it felt more like a tendon or something. Not a muscle.

You can clearly see the muscle in your picture. It looks like all the x's are on it.
That’s what I thought to when I looked in the mirror trying to find it.

But when I do that trick and lay on bed and lift leg up like the other guy said. It’s not the same location. The only thing that moves is the second x from pant line

I suppose it is possible to just not have a strong contraction in that muscle since you have never really tried to engage it, and this could be making it hard for you to pinpoint the spot to pin. I cannot recall when I learned this shit or if it was hard so I am speaking from a pretty jaded point of view when I say it is honestly not hard to get the muscle to show up for easy access. Once you nail it one time you will be good to go forever. It does actually fuckin hurt to stab sometimes, I cannot tell you why it happens since I definitely do not have untouched skin there but sometimes it still stings/burns a bit and I just go with it anyway. As long as you do not hit a nerve (You will fucking KNOW) or inject into a vein/artery (RIP) you are good to slam the oil in even if it is an unpleasant pin. This shit is not painless no matter how long you do it or how 'good' you are at it, nobody with a platform talks about the pain of injecting and how even after 5+ years it still hits randomly and fuckin sucks but yeah don't let it discourage you. Aspirate if you are worried about railing it into your bloodstream, go slow into the muscle so you can back out if you stick a nerve, but really just take a breath and go for it. This is just one of those shitty things you will have to endure if you think this is a lifestyle choice you want to keep pursuing.

I’m use to 23g 1.5 inch I don’t have problems with needles at all or blood or anything.

My problem like you mentioned in your first few sentences is I have no idea where the muscle is.

Sometimes when I try to find it it feels like a tendon. Then sometimes it feels like a muscle but is more badk towards my ass. So basically I still have no idea where it is.

I just started doing delts with insulin pins and will try outer quads next time
