Going to keep it short because im trying to get more sleep lol.. i'll read the comments tomorrow

Been on TRT+ close to 10 yrs, doc prescribed along with ugl. I mostly do 300-350 maybe most of the year and drop down to 180 a couple times a year to do my doc prescribed blood work. Only ever added Mast to my personal TRT+ and i havent even done that for a couple of years. EVERY bloodwork i have gotten for my doc and when im on 350/week has been spot on.. E2/ lipids/ prostate/HCT/ full metabolic panel is always within range never had an issue. Never taken HCG since i started trt.

Lately for the last 6-8 months after turning 40 i just have been having a general feelingness of shit. Dont want to workout, want to eat like shit, sore from working out, no motivation, that type of stuff. I've been wrestling all my life and doing jiu jitsu for the last 15 yrs and even that i have to fight to get motivation sometimes.. ( i still go i dont miss days lol)

My question is.. is this really how it is getting old? Is it time for HGH? What other health markers can i look at? Where would you guys start?

Where does 300-350 put your T? You are not taking any cruise breaks that sound substantial...

I would look at thyroid, TSH,T3,T4. Testosterone usually lowers it, always a good place to start with low energy and poor overall feelings, full CBC is normal? Could be psychosomatic too though... Any big life changes, that you believe could contribute to poor mood/ depression?

I would want to identify the cause of this first before HGH, you don't just turn 40 and implode... HGH has risks, it can make tumors more tenacious and grow faster. I would want to make sure I was healthy first. I hear HGH is awesome though for mood etc. of course it has some bad sides though too...

I am of course basing this all off of your E2 being normal for you etc these past couple months or else I would look there...

Any other sides?

I don’t have a ton to add, but I’m in the same boat broski. I’m younger 40s, I just don’t recover the same, I need more rest days, and I find myself unmotivated to get in the gym at times.

A part of me has thought, “This is all mental, get out of your head and go kill shit, as per usual.” But then more and more I’m having to come to terms that I’m just past my prime at this point. I have a hard time letting go of my youth.

I’m hindsight, my mid/older 30s were my peak. I had the knowledge, muscle maturity, strength, conditioning and a willingness to keep pushing forward.

I still have those things, its just not to the same degree. Anyway, again, I wish I was of more help. These are questions im currently asking myself as well. Regardless if we’re 50, 60 or whatever, keep trying to move forward. A life of stagnation isn’t worth living.

I'm close to turning 42 and I'm in the best shape of my life, both mentally and physically. I recover as well as I ever have, mostly due to the knowledge I have gathered, and being at a point in my life where I have more money and control. Maybe you need to re think your weekly routine? You might be burning the candle at both ends and not realizing it.

But honestly, to me it sounds like you're having a midlife crisis or something that you might need to talk with a professional about.

It's not the gear, it's not your age. You can't be happy and motivated all the time. It's a balance. People that are happy all the time or that never get angry, snap.

Get a different girl, maybe get your girl some outfits to wear for you. You need something new and exciting added to your life. Go on a trip somewhere with the woman or go to the Dominican Republic with the guys. Find something that would make you happy and do it.

I could very well be wrong, but to me it sounds like the normal slump people get sometimes. Try not to over think it.

i usually sit around 2500ng all year long. I never had TSH T3 and T4 tested i will look into that next time.
Full CBC is always normal. E2 gets out of whack sometimes..last time it was 71 and i had libido issues. i usually take .25 adex every 5 or so days been working for me for a decade lol
I went through a divorce but my overall life is better than ever aside from they gym.. I dont know im going to start with SH T3 and T4.

Why such a high test year long? Yes, thyroid is a good place to start the tests are relatively cheap too if you have a hard time getting a doctor to order them. Fair with the E2 I imagined you had that down pat, just wanted to cover the basics though..
When was the divorce man? Even if it was for the best, this is a lot of stress on you and your CNS... Plus I bet you have more free time now, how have you decided to fill that time?

Idk maybe because I am in my 20's I am naive but you and @Case-Akilleez seem to both hold similar beliefs. I am not so convinced this is solely age-related compared to mental... I don't know you all that well but even in the rhetoric you all are writing makes it seem like a psychological problem over an actual age-related physical problem.

TRT did wonders for some of my depressive symptoms, but not all of them all of the time. No matter, what, when winter hits and light is low, my affect goes into the toilet. Blue light therapy, vitamin D, taking walks, looking at pictures of puppies and kittens... none of those put a dent in it. I sometimes take half of a 25 mg ephedrine tablet in the morning to get going, maybe have the second half in the early afternoon if I haven't picked up. But there are elements of soldiering through shitty moods that I'm just okay with. Like my wrestling coach always said: embrace the shit. The worse the day is, the more of a win it is to get through it well.

I do notice a meaningful difference taking DHEA and pregnenolone, especially on my sleep and background anxiety level. It's worth a thought. And don't neglect the real possibility of organic depression. It's insanely common.

I’m about to turn 41 and feel the exact same way. Been on TRT last two years. Was ripped until about 6 months ago when my teenage daughter started being a super shithead and kind of threw our whole family out of whack. Another thing my doc lowered my dosage bc my hemaglobin was high so being on a lower dose has sucked. Winter sucks balls as well. Idk man, I too am looking for some extra motivation. Good luck.

Oh man, that puts my whining about the winter in stark relief. Hope your kid comes to her senses soon, amigo.

Why such a high test year long?
I've found over the decade that its what works for me considering bloodwork and overall well being i guess. I'm in the bjj community so recovery is king we are all tiny guys compared to bodybuilders lol . I do a lot of cardio and grappling which can take a toll. I personally know guys that stay on much higher levels.

I'd be lying if i said i never thought about being depressed but like a lot of us, we've all been raised to stfu and bear it (maybe not these 20 yr olds these days lol) so thats always going to be in me. Oh well just gotta keep going fuck it.

Thats what happened to me(lowered my TRT dose because of hematocrit) and now its like 75mg per week and I dont even know if thats worth pinning lol like if I will even do anything.

Im 32 btw, my levels weren't dangerously high or anything

This is how it is.

I felt amazing in my early thirties. Felt great, looked great, made good money, got tons of pussy, and about the time I turned 36 it was like reverse 😂
