What sleeping meds do you guys recommend?

A few times a week I have trouble falling asleep and or staying asleep. I have been experimenting with Ambien (a friend has a script) zolpidem 10mg. It seems to work okay most of the time but I don’t know , I haven’t tried anything else. Has anyone heard of or tried Etizolam? Let me know what you guys use!

I use etizolam on occasion. It works well but I wouldn’t use it consistently as it can be addicting. You can buy the powder crazy cheap but I would not recommend this unless you are experienced with volumetric dosing and know very well that you have the control to not go crazy with it.

benzos are a slipperly slope
and zdrugs work well at first, but then you’ll slowly start feeling less and less rested and you’ll sleep fewer hours till youve upped the dose to catch a drugged up 4 hrs a night that literally feels like you barely napped. not worth

Lunesta is pretty good. Ambien is scary. It hits you like a knockout punch. I agree with SC, especially on the melatonin. I have found I consistently slept the best when I did more cardio. Slept like a baby.

I gave up the Ambien a few years ago, it was great at first but started becoming less effective and/or making me too groggy the next morning. The last couple years I’ve been using Kirkland brand sleep aid (Doxylamine Succinate) as needed and it works pretty well, but i usually take 2 or 3. This past week I tried 1 gram of GABA, 500mg of L-Ornithine, Zinc, Magnesium and one Kirkland pill… I slept like a baby.

Unisom or melatonin. Say no to benzos you’ll get addicted. Say no to Ambien (not a benzo but as with any hypnotic you have a chance of getting addicted). I’m perscribed Ambien. It takes me 30mg to fall asleep, and depending how stressed I am with work I’ll have a glass of wine or 2 with it. Not a get habit to get into. So please try every alternative before turning to hypnotics or benzos.

Seriously? No one else uses weed? One dab of some terp heavy indica have you sleeping like a baby. Also, good CBD products make the difference between me waking up or staying asleep when I roll over at night and I’m in the middle of a heavy squat/deadlift block (lower back going off).

Melatonin and everything else I tried made me feel too hungover the next day. Small controlled doses of edibles and dabs are my go to

I can vouch for Lunesta.

I’d try everything SC mentioned upthread before venturing into medication. You sleep, yes, but my experience is that the sleep isn’t as good as when you fall asleep naturally (6 hours on Lunesta feels like 3 hours of normal sleep for me).

For me Personally I find Magnesium Glycinate stacked with 3-5mg of Melatonin and 1-2 grams of Taurine a great sleep stack.
Also the product Optisom from ATP Labs works very well and is natural.
If things are desperate Phenibut works extremely well.

I also have to cut off caffiene/stimulants by 1-2pm, no crazy tv shows late at night and some adrenal support daily.

yeah for sure don’t use benzos they’re hell coming off and even deadly (not kidding a single bit) … go to a psychiatrist and say you can’t sleep boom you’ll get seroquil or trazadone both are good for infrequent use start on half the quil if they give you that. i can take half a 25mg seroquil pass the fak out and no hang over

900mg Gabapentin and 30ml Zzzquil. I am a very light sleeper, wake up 3-4x’s a night, and once I wake I never fully get back to sleep. When I take that combo, I’m out in 20 mins and sleep til my alarm, then feel fully rested. Non-habit forming for both. Gabapentin (Neurontin) can be prescribed off schedule for restless lag syndrome. Just tell your doctor your legs ache at night when your trying to sleep and you can’t stop moving them.

Caveats - need a prescription, tolerance builds easily so you can’t use it every night, horse pills.

Remeron works ok. It did make me gain 20 lbs I didn’t want to gain when I first started it though. Ambien works, but I quit taking it after I decided to kick out my window screen and try to escape through the window in the middle of the night.

Less a specific strain than a specie. You want an indica based strain. Indicas usually produce a more body-focused high that’s great for passing the fuck out.

You can get all spun up on a really fast sativa and not be able to sleep at all.

If I could recommend anything specifically for sleep it would be edibles. Your body metabolizes it differently and it’s a longer lasting calmness. That’s what helps me the most with sleep. Eat some of it.

Ambien is a big jump from “trouble falling asleep a few times a week” Go to the doctor there are less severe meds like trazodone. This is assuming of course you’ve tried normal ways like less caffeine, avoiding screens for 45 minutes before bed, etc.

I know strongfat answered you but i will also chime in. I cook up large batches of pure coca with stevia and raw peanut butter. I use medicated coconut oil that i make that has 70-30 cbd to thc thats both 90% indica. Eat a bite of that and im out like a rock in 1-2 hours. The best part is it seems to regulate my sleep even days after taking a dose. It takes near a week or more before my trensomnia or just my normal insomnia will kick in again. Really underated shit and most dont bother with the cbd part. Vital imo.
