USPS delays

I had a shipment come in to my local USPS Jan 5th, with an original delivery date of that same day.
Now it has an unknown delivery date and every day it says “In Transit to Next Facility, Arriving Late”.
Anyone else had a similar experience? Wondering if I should head up there and ask for it, or it’s a red flag. Informed delivery doesn’t say anything about a confiscation.

I’m experiencing the exact same thing on the same exact dates lol. Except mine is for supplements, I’m assuming yours is for gear. personally I would tread with caution. Maybe someone with experience could answer, but I don’t think I’d go out of my to retrieve it. Good luck, be careful.

My thoughts exactly. My package before did this but it was only an extra couple days. This is longer. My first thought was I can just go ask for it, but then I can implicate myself 😅

I’ve had that happen multiple times with usps packages that were legal.

Recently with FedEx I had it too. Except my FedEx tracking was stuck at the last stop before it got delivered and had a message along the lines of “we’ll keep you updated when it moves” for about 3 days then it finally got delivered.

Probably just delays man.

I agree with the other guy tho, don’t go retrieve it.

Normal status update from usps. If you haven’t heard usps has shut down or is shutting down several sort centers and post offices. This means slower mail and missed delivery dates.

Those are just a best estimate based on when the package is received and where it is and SHOULD be going. The only guaranteed delivery date are for I believe express priority overnight

Yes had this same thing happen over the holidays. Got delayed 5 days total including the weekend. It just kept saying in transit to next facility, then just randomly showed up one day.

Same here.

Just be patient. But don't go. Also don't keep looking up the tracking and certainly don't do it from a VPN. Those automatically flag packages by the computer system.

Whats your source on this info? Not saying you're wrong i just have never heard of it.
He’s correct, using a VPN to check can get flagged and turn into a controlled delivery. Looks suspicious compared to just checking informed delivery normally, as then there can be no reasonable suspicion and someone can just claim they were checking their daily mail

What if you have vpn turned on. And you click the informed delivery notification via email inbox which then directs you to tracking on usps website.

Would that still count it as getting flagged, anyone know ?

I highly question if this is true. My home network is almost entirely passed through VPN. Sometimes I order normal things like car parts and I obsessively track them if I'm worried about receiving before the weekend. So far nobody has setup a controlled delivery for my OEM Toyota parts.

I had a delayed delivery come almost 45 days after it was shipped. Got the same message you are getting from a well known source here on SST. Source ended up reshipping the pack and literally the day after the reship landed the original pack landed. Kinda odd but yea…
