You guy should definitely check WORKOUT. There’s a ton of stuff you can do like tracking down your rest times, exercises, creating your own routines, meals and they update their info all the time. You get videos of each exercise and audios about everything.

BB.com’s Bodyspace app. First of all, its free. I’ve been using it for years, 717 workouts tracked, 15.27 Million pounds lifted. It has thousands of programs you can browse and save, or make your own. You can track all your lifts, weight, reps and sets. You can use it to track your own weight and measurements. Its easy to pick a single day out of a program, save it to your list, and edit it, add to it, etc. It has a rest timer for between sets, that you can also edit the settings for. BB.com will also send you an email each week, with a summery of that week’s workout, with how many sets you did on each bodypart that week. Its great. It also has social features and friends and shit, but I don’t use any of that.

Not necessarily a “workout” app, but MyFitnessPal is almost essential for tracking calories/macros.

Well this app is actually why I’m asking. I was using one of the bodyspace apps for a bit until one day when I’m about to start my workout, realize they logged me out without without any watering and I have to pay a monthly fee to use it again. I’m not against paying for a good app but It was frustrating that this happened without any warning.

It’s Strong for sure
I downloaded the app, seems to be promoting 5x5 lifts. Thats a workout to get stronger I believe, I don’t care about lifting really heavy weights, going for more of a physique geared workout with minimal injuries and I think doing 5x5 might get me injured.

I’ve had the most luck with “WorkIt”. It has a ton of built in options that are fairly standard programs along with the ability to customize and just make your own. Super easy to use as well.

Thats pretty handy, I want something that also has workout routines. A timer would be really nice for sure, I know sometimes I take too long of a rest between sets.

Progressive overload is the best way to ensure continual stimulus for muscle growth, and thats what all good programs like 5x5, DC, Lyles Generic Bulk Routine, Fortitude Training, etc have in common. I’m not particularly a fan of 5x5 because once you get to a more advanced level, 5 sets of 5 at a high weight is just too taxing on the CNS. I’ve had the best growth overall from a Dorian or DC style of training.

To the topic, Strong is the app that I use and they have MANY more templates available besides just the 5x5. The beauty of it is the simplicity in tracking workouts, and when you repeat an exercise it shows you exactly what you did the workout prior, so you know what you have to beat. If you’re trying to stay away from injury, check out some of John Meadows programs. He includes a lot of pre-exhaustion and extra warming up that keeps everything feeling good. You can still use strong, but instead of using one of the pre-programmed templates just use “free-workout” and plug the exercises in for whatever workout you have.

There are options to create your own workouts in this app. So if you did PPL you could have Push_1, Pull_1, Legs_2, Push_2, Pull_2, Legs_2, etc. You can create a bunch of different templates for specific days, or IIRC just hit go and log them as you go, if the exercise isn’t in the directory it will let you create your own. It is pretty thorough.

But if this is too complicated the Notes app on your phone would be the easiest way to write down what you did on a day if you log it correctly and add specific tags to easily look up specific workout’s or PR’s or what have you.

Yeah I’ve actually been using notes for a while but just downloaded google docs a couple days ago and pasted everything in there, its a little nicer and clean interface. Pretty much just using random apps to find my workouts and then logging everything including aas use into docs.

Spotify - obvious reasons
Fit notes - tracks progress
Skimble - good for tabata workouts and ab circuits
Running for weight loss - running interval workouts, for when I need to up the cardio. And since I fucking hate cardio. This at least gives me a challenge and a goal to smash.

Heyy thanks a ton man, that will really help me out. I will email you shortly!

I have an extended vacation coming up soon (out of country for 2 weeks), so the longer half life will be needed for me. I’ll be sure to get some bloods done to help you and the community out.

Do we know what interval we’d want to see for test decanoate bloods? I’d want to test a nadir (lowest point) to see how long you can really go between pins, but the general guideline here is to catch the peak when doing bloods.
