Was wondering if the guys running slin could drop protocol and experience. Fasting blood glucose is about 95 on 3iu. 350-400 carbs a day. Taking berberine.

Bg is within range but I’d like it to be a little better.

Since a few of you asked for it, 'Ergo's Beginners Insulin Protocol'

DISCLAIMER: Insulin will kill you if you aren't safe. The rule of thumb (aka broscience) is you should have 10g of carbs per unit of insulin, then slowly taper the carbs down or insulin up until you hit the sweet spot. Myself, I eat about ~~40g~~ 60g of carbs prior to the insulin, and take 10 units, followed by 90g fast carbs (natural lemonade) and 50g protein (egg whites) as well as BCAA's and creatine, which I drink throughout my workout.

>Take 10iu r type insulin immediately before your W/O. Go in bathroom stall and sub Q it. Walk out take your time and suit up. Wraps gloves belt whatever. After about 10 minutes start sipping a pre made drink you brought along with you just for this occasion. Drink should contain at a minimum 100 grams of fast acting carbs. I prefer PineApple Juice. Read the PA label this equates to 32+ oz of juice. I like to also include Pasteurized liquid egg white litely blended in my PA juice 12-16 oz. I make this at home and pour it over ice. I use an empty tropicana orange juice plastic jug. Perfect size with a big opening for easy drinking. I hit this for my whole W/O which takes me usually 90 minutes. I take my time and lift heavy. If i'm drinking to fast I put cold fountain water in increase amount. After my W/O. I take my time de-suit, wash my hands, say my good byes to my friends and casually drive home. When I get home around 45 minutes has elapsed. I fuck around and prepare my food and I eat a whole meal of rice and a can of pineapple chunks and a lean protein source. I like talapia or Ahi tuna cooked in a skillet with canola oil non-stick only. This is around the 2-3 hr mark since taking my pre W/O slin and this is just about the peaking phase time of your r type insulin. Perfect. This is a beautiful scenario to introduce you to the joys of insulin use with a very, very low risk. Just do it right as I instructed and you will not have to worry.

I’m 230 lbs 8% BF, 5’11. 400 grams carbs a day

During bulk, I do 10-20iu Lantus in the AM (titrate up as needed with fasting glucose)

15 min pre workout 5iu humalog (100
Grams Karbolyn intra)

3iu humalog 15 min before each 50gram carb meal

So is the idea of 3iu less is more are are you aiming more towards to side of just lowering the actual bg for longevity health.

My fasting is 105 (just checked) it’s been steady at 99-105. Not horrible but I did drop the gh a week ago to see how bad it actually is. Definitely the lantus and was thinking about your protocol too.

The idea of 3iu for me is essentially just playing it safe. In my profession I’m constantly on the go, and can’t afford to go even slightly hypo. The diff between 3 and 5 iu is significant, but still enough to get nutrient shuttling benefits. Most pros don’t even do slin during most meals. Roman Pierce for example, only uses slin before and after each workout, so ultimately, it’s highly personalized.

Do you run it year around or just during your bulking phase alongside GH?

I would like to add that I have slightly modified my protocol. Now that my AAS and food has increased, Im now running 10iu humalog pre with 150 carbs intra. 20iu lantus AM and 5iu lantus before bed. The pm lantus has gotten my morning fasting glucose back down to 76 from 88 at 8iu hgh and 500 carbs per day

I’ll start off with what you had first mentioned, seemed more simple haha.

At the moment like I said mines between 99-105, no gh at 350 carbs a day. It was 120 at 400+ carbs a day and 3-4iu.

I think it’ll be a good start for me. I’d anything else abt to protocol?

My personal recommendation for you is to start with 10iu lantus AM, and 5iu humalog Preworkout with 75-100grams carbs intra. Also berberine 3x per day.

Test your fasting glucose in the am (you want this below 90). and adjust lantus dose as necessary. If you decide to rock the slin before each meal, that will help too, but… can be a lot.

You’re right. Gonna feel it out at the morning & preworkout & maybe do the pre meal.

I appreciate the advice this helped for sure

I pretty much do the preworkout and post 3IU humalog only along w GH pre. A little goes a long way esp since we’re not diabetic and our pancreas still works fine it’s not really necessary to push it.

Would like to try the lantus, but haven’t seen anybody offer it domestically.

Is this every day during a blast? 2-3x/week? Only on workout days?

It’s highly individuals. The humalog/intra are of course on workout days only. Some people only run Lantus on high days which is fine if your blood sugar is good. That’s really the key. For me, when I run 6-8iu of HGH, my blood sugar can get into the 90’s and low 100’s on off days as my carb intake is still pretty high, so I still run it.

I’m currently in week 8 of a blast, and have upped my dosages as well. 10iu pre/post. 20iu lantus am, 5iu lantus PM. Blood sugars stay around 85 fasted.

Mines Been creeping up ever since switching to the supremes from k4L. I only have humalog and novorapid. Been using the log pre workout, but I had to order some lantus this week because my BG is higher than I like even on mostly low/mod carb. Have you noticed any negatives with running the lantus?

Zero negatives. You don’t even notice/feel it whatsoever. It just runs in the background. Start with 10iu, test your glucose, and adjust as needed.
