Not basic cutting advice, but little hacks to make it through the difficult days

Here are the tricks I already know:
Diet soda
Salt your food!! (Just necessary)
Increase caffeine
0 cal condiments, stuff like Walden's farms syrup
Gum (never for me, hate gum)

Increase caffeine

Please be super-careful with this. You need good sleep now more than ever. There are studies showing poor sleep quality = overeating & worse food choices. Mental wellness.

Walden's farms

Haha total Frankenfood concoctions, but I use a lot of their Amazin Mayo and Caesar dressing. Zero kcals. Kinda mild GI distress maybe sometimes but hard to pinpoint.

Better than getting fat because of frigging mayonnaise.

I keep my caffeine at ~100mg a day normally. An increase for me would put me at 200-250mg a day, which if consumed early enough in the day (10+ hours before bed) should be fine.
I worry about the people taking wild pre-work outs in the gym at 4pm.

Zero cal drinks are my big thing, when I'm cutting I get a sweet tooth. So when I get a craving I down a couple ice cold coke zeros or whatever zero soda of choice that week is. Also I start to include things like protein pastas and stuff so I can optimize calories, so instead of normal pasta or rice, it's a protein version.... Biggest thing though for me is night time eating, so I try to eat tiny meals during the day so I can eat a normal portion before the gym and then I nice "bigger" meal after the gym so I'm no hungry right as I go to bed

I'd rather kill myself than use zero cal condiments or sauces like Walden farms ever again lol

Find something to keep you busy if you have a lot of downtime. Bordem when I’m hungry is the worst.

Instead of sitting between sets at the gym, I take a lap or kinda pace near my area back and forth.

Prepare your meals. I find if I am 100% prepped I only have my meals at work so that’s literally all I can eat. Sure I could go to the market or a vending machine but just don’t allow yourself to deviate.

Make sure you’re hydrated.

For lifestyle and not prep. Just what you usually eat but start downsizing, take a out a bread piece from the burger, don't finish your fries, use less ranch..., and as you continue to downsize, add healthier options and next thing you know, you have wayy less cravings for fast food. If you have huge discipline, just change everything all at once.
Or you can also "Eat Clen and Tren hard"

I think some of the old time bodybuilders got this right. Too much eating at night is not good. Some people are starving themselves all day only to binge at night. No bueno for gainz.

I know some say they sleep better with a full belly. Sleep is important but I don't think this is the best way.

Ah, you see, I haven't actually used these yet, I'm just planning on trying it after 6 weeks on the cut. I'm definitely going to try their fake syrup so I can have sweet potato & chicken breast with fake syrup.

The boredom will be hard. I have a fake job where I basically babysit a room for hours.
I'm naturally a pacer, I like to think of it as stalking my prey. Big and bad 5'7" monster in the gym.
Preparing all my meals is the plan for the first time. I always played that game of counting my calories everyday and adjusting what I eat everyday, and it was so tiresome and I'd cheat it without trying. I still had success, but I just don't want that method again. Everyday will be the same food at the same time. I'll change up my carb source weekly if I feel like it. I'm going to deviate a couple times: once because I'll be camping for 4 days straight with the future in-laws (I will still be in calorie deficit, absolutely no junk food, and I will partially meal prep for this, I just can't pack every meal.)
And the other time will be for a nice dinner after I propose next month. But even that will be a chicken dish with veggies sides, I'll just accept all the added butter n sugar that restaurants do. This is a once in a lifetime occasion.

Yeah definitely don’t be that guy unless you’re doing a show or something. Just be concise about what you eat. When you go out w future family I myself don’t try to be a narcissist about it. Gotta have balance.

Yeah, I try to keep a tab of restaurants I know I can work with. El nopal, idk if they're national, a Mexican food chain where I live, offers grilled tilapia with rice and veggies. Cheddar's offers grilled lemon pepper chicken with rice and you can get veggies as your side.

Do as many crunches you can between sets. Keep that heart rate up.

Using an app to track food is a must for me. It's so eye opening too when you see where the standout meals are, in regard to calories. There's no freaking way I'm eating regular mayonnaise while cutting weight. I use a low fat version, which kind of sucks, but it's 1/3 the calories of regular mayo.

I agree with @rastaman69 , having a good app to track calories and macros is fucking eye opener. It also allows you to make the small tweaks needed to dial it in. I probably couldn’t do it without it

My son started using the same app I use - he's well on his way to being completely jacked. One day he texted me saying "it's crazy how many calories mayonnaise has in it". I literally laughed out loud and showed my girlfriend the text. We had JUST discussed how crazy mayonnaise is. Without the app and a scale, I really wouldn't have gotten a true picture of what I'm consuming.

Multivitamins/Greens Powder and Fiber.

I always split up the fiber and vitamins over the day and I find that it makes a big difference for my cravings and satiety.
