Oldest vial of gear you've used?

What’s the oldest vial you’ve pinned?
Did you notice any bad things about it, like lost potency or increased pip?
Has anyone sent a very old vial, say 3+ years old, to Jano to see how well it held up?

Asking because I’m thinking of cruising and buying all my test for the year, or even 2-3 years, in one big batch.

Why?

Fewer packages of illegal drugs showing up at my house is generally a good thing. Additionally, what happens if the board shuts down and I’ve only got a month or two of test?

Multiple years (2-3 iirc) opened, compounded test C @ 200 mg/mL. No problems at the time. Wouldn’t do it again unless stupid desperate though. Risk:reward just ain’t there to save a few bucks IMO (not the risk of the drug degrading but things like the the rubber stopper degrading into the oil instead).

100% Agree with what SouthernCompounding had to say on this up thread.

That said, I’ve used a vial of pharma (prescription) Test Cyp that was over five years old and previously used, no issues. Didn’t do any tests or bloods, however.

The main concern with most AAS isn’t necessarily potency degradation (because realistically the degradation is mostly negligible - depending), but rather fear of bacterial growth. Or like already mentioned, potential degradation of the stopper used. Personally I’d feel pretty confident using an unopened, well-brewed vial for, well, longer than most people would realistically have it shelved for. Assuming there were no signs of bacterial growth, rubber or other such floaties in your liquid, mind you. But use your own discretion, 2-3 years shelf life is the general “maximum” I’d ‘safely’ advise.

why lol.https://www.drugs.com/pro/images/874dec5e-8910-3b3f-e053-2a95a90a8334/72833-678-30 - outer label.jpg lasts about 6 months. degradation is slow though like 5% a year why would you want to have decreased effectiveness after spending a bunch of money just buy 6 months to a years worth powder lasts forever tho
That’s from a compounding company which is going to put a 28-31 day “expiration date” on everything that they sell. It’s a liability game on their part. Even at 5% degradation per year and for the sake of simple math, a vial of Test 250mg will still have 225mg of hormone at year two. At three years, 214mg. Cruising at 100mg a week, you’d need .4mL during year one, .44mL during year two, and .46mL during year three. It’s negligible and you’re splitting hairs. You’re more likely to draw too much/little oil and over/under dose each week than notice the effects of the oil slightly degrading.

@“mdwilson2011” - Most here will agree that two years seems to be the “Golden Rule” for “best if used by” dates for oils and orals. How they’re stored will have a greater impact than how long they are stored. I know a couple of guys on here have root cellars and store their gear in them. You have a consistent temperature year round and lack of direct sunlight which are your two big factors to deal with.

Personally, I keep all of my stuff in a hard shell case made for essential oils and store it in my medicine cabinet. Most of my gear is 6-12 months old. Never noticed a fluctuation in blood work from using older oils.

My opinion, buy however many vials you want man. Personally, I keep 5-8 on hand just in case I drop one or a buddy needs to bum one.
I was just trying to give him an idea, 5 or 8 vials sure but why buy 3 years worth 1 or 2 ya for sure but who wants a pharmacy hanging out in their closet. it would suck if something fell and broke them all. just buy a few and chuck em in a drawer. one forum I read a guy had a 10 year old vial lol> AND HE PINNED IT rofl. its only 60 bucks lol. I do a years worth myself

I agree with SoCo, 2 years is about the standard for ‘best by’ date.

I normally think: Best if used within 2-3 years, don’t use if it is more than 5-10 years old.

I have used a few vials that are over a year old with no adverse effects. I normally buy a years worth of Test U at a time, because I only pin 1 ml per week, so a years supply is like 6 vials

Thanks for the input everyone. I never thought about degradation of the rubber stopper over a long period of time. Probably will be safe and use vials less than 3 years old.

Not saying this is a good idea… but I’ve used 5-6 year old stuff recently. I always pin a few small shots SUB-Q to see if my body has any reaction over a week or so before going IM.
