Can someone please explain to me, like I'm a 5th grader, what insulin and peptides do for gaining muscle mass?

Insulin works by shuttling in nutrients to the muscle and other cells for use. It works together with steroids to increase MPS. It also, obviously through the same process decreases the risk of catabolism. You have to consume carbs etc with insulin for it to work well. Look up the "protocol" around here. It can be dangerous if done incorrectly, so be prepared and knowledgeable before starting. You need to know the type of carbs, type of insulin, and when to take each.

Peptide is too general of a term, which ones specifically?

Thank you for the reply. In so far as peptides, I have no clue. Could you say go over 1 or 2 of the major ones? What they do and maybe what to expect? I am VERY new to all this and I am basically starting from below ground level and trying to learn. I am not trying to be the next Arnold, I am 60 and that just isn't going to happen. Just want to gain a little more muscle mass.

What are you currently running/ have you run? Also, do you take any medications?

I would consider HGH over peptides, unless you have a high risk for prostate/urinary, GI, or breast cancer. As long as I don't get cancer HGH has been amazing for me. Sleep quality is insane, I can sleep 4 hours and feel like I slept 10 due to the amount of deep and rem sleep I get. Muscle gain/recovery, beneficial for weight loss, improved mood. Some people have side effects like paresthesia or water retention, I have luckily not experienced this on 5IU yet. Still slowly titrating up to 6-7iu.

Peptides like BPC 157 or TB 500 given your age, respectfully are probably worth looking into. These peptides help to heal injury quickly and are worth having on hand if you feel an injury from lifting coming on.

Yes nightly, for u start out at 2 iu daily (which is maintenance) and SLOWLY go up by 1 so long as the sides aren't bad. You want to make sure you don't have any negative effects like too much drowsiness or severe paresthesia or water retention.
