Insulin & meal timing

Quite a specific question I suppose. Pre-workout insulin usage is pretty straight forward, but when using 10iu of rapid insulin post-workout, will this necessitate a post-workout meal completely free of fats as well? that would rule out a proper meal before bed by my schedule.

so far the protocol, starting at pre-workout, looks like this:

4:15pm 4iu gh (up to 5iu)
4:45pm 8iu slin (up to 10)
shake contains total of: 80g carbolyn, 60g hydrolised whey, 5g creatine, 5g taurine
4:55pm drink 1/3 of shake
5:00pm start workout
6:15pm (halfway through workout) drink 1/3 shake
7:30pm finish workout, drink 1/3 shake
7:45~8: 10iu slin (ideally 4h distance from bedtime)
11:45: sleep

any input is really appreciated, I compiled this from the updated mike arnold protocol, reading all the insulin compound experience threads on the subreddit and searching SST & Meso for insulin protocols as well.

Personally I don’t like those shake protocols, I prefer to eat something, e.g. low-fat quark with some fruit and oats, maybe add some whey. If I misjudge the amount of carbs I need for the workout, e.g. a heavy leg day needs more carbs to fuel than just a arm and shoulder day, I munch down some glucose tablets I carry on me allday.

I concur with Broderick Chavez on this topic, Timing is overrated. Even for Insulin.

I get your point but I’m asking regarding post-workout insulin use specifically, so the workout isn’t a factor, but keeping fats minimal may matter even moreso than pre-workout as there’s no energy expenditure coming up but bedtime instead.

Oh Sorry mate, I misread your question (Guess all those tren blasts did take their toll on me brain).

I would still advise to get in a good bolus of calories after your workout, even if you are going to bed soon afterwards. All those carbs, proteins (and little fats) will go straight into refueling your liver and muscle glycogen, and to repairing/growing your muscles. Keeping fats minimal would be perfect - e.g. some lean meat, rice/potatoes/full brawn noodles, and some delicious veggies. You don’t have to be weird and eat just carbs without any fats… like 10 to 20 gr in this meal is fine.

Or something that is digesting a bit slower, good old Magerquark (lean greek yoghurt), with some oats and fruit (berries, pineapple, apple, banana and a kiwi). Especially since you are asleep with the Insulin still active.

I would keep fats low the whole insulin time if possible. Fat gets just stored… as fat :D. If you got some time, watch this podcast from Broderick Chavez about high carb massing:

Side question, are you always supposed to take GH with insulin during the same time? Can I take HGH in the morning and insulin in the evening?

Ideally you’re supposed to take GH and 15-30 minutes afterwards insulin, if it’s the rapid type anyways, not too familiar with longer lasting insulin protocols like Lantus. The point is to have the insulin active when IGF-1 is elevated from GH to benefit from the greatly enhanced nutrient shuttling into your cells which is the anabolic part of the combo and why you’re pounding down all those quickly absorbing carbs and proteins.
