Ordered a package international, says it was in Chicago but it’s now “inbound into customs” for five days now. Anyone know what this means ? And how long will it be before it gets out/changes status ?

just depends bro.

my shit has been at customs for almost 10 days, nearing the end of usps priority 6-10 day window. just remember that depending on how the source shipped it, it could sit in customs for a bit, or take even longer sorting because they didn’t pick a method to presort for safety reasons.

Just hang tight and remember most carriers work on actual business days, so even though it may say its been 10 days, it could be like 6 or 7 business days depending on how the weeks fell.

I’d sit tight til midweek to let the slog of the weekend drone through and if you haven’t had any other updates then hit up the source.

Don’t panic. Don’t track it daily (once or twice a week). Sit tight and wait.

You’ll either get it or you end up getting a seizure letter in a month or two.

Inbound into customs simply means that the shipment has arrived in it’s destination country, and is now being processed through the country’s customs.

Customs may hold a package for half day, 5 days, 20 days, etc. before releasing it or seizing it. Generally we tend to assume the longer the hold in customs, the more likely it has been seized. That’s not always the case, we’ve had packages held 30 days before release (unopened), so there just really isn’t a clear timeline ever. We’ve heard numerous times that Chicago customs is very slow, and very disorganized. San Francisco customs has the highest seizure rate (hence most businesses/vendors and ourselves route to JFK/New York.
