Health Insurance & Sauzzle

So I’m fairly new to this… When I think I have crazy test levels, I typically just go in for a physical and don’t get a hormone panel … just check everything else… mind you right now I’m taking 400mgs of test, which is the most I’ve ever taken. I’ve just always had such great gains the past year on TRT or a little bit above… Anyways, point being, I want to run some heavier cycles, and obviously i want to monitor my health closely… But i have a good job that comes with a badass insurance policy that i get for free. They pay for everything and I definitely don’t want them blowing me any shit… Has anyone run into issues with insurance paying for bloodwork and test levels coming back at 10,000?? LOL. if so, how can i get bloodwork done without spending hundreds of dollars every month or two (if even possible)

I dont think insurance would ever see your lab results. They would only see how often you go to the doc and what treatment you got so they know what to cover. So the info they receive is ’ 8/17/21. John Doe full metabolic panel and hormone profile@. They decide how much they cover and how much they dont. That SHOULD be it. Like they either cover the bloodwork or they dont. Some insurance covers X amount of lab orders per year. Its kinda doubtful your insurance pays for everything. Its likely youve just been lucky and always gotten treatments that were 100% covered. One thing you can do is call the billing dept of your health care provider. You should be able to get your doc or the receptionist to pass on their details. Ask for the codes for what you want done. So metabolic panel, hormone check, liver and kidney function etc, might need to work with the doc on this to make sure you get the right codes. Then take those codes to your inurance and ask what is covered and how many times per year.

My insurance covers bloodwork but only when the doc wants it. When its me just wanting it on a whim they cover like 70% of it. which still leaves me with a 200-300$ bill just fyi.

where are you guys getting blood work that costs that much? Private labs are around $60 for basic and a little over $100 for additional stuff.

@zyzzsickkvnt So if you are on trt dose, your test should be the higher end of normal. If its over say 1000ng/dL your doc may ask questions. They arent trying to ‘catch’ you or anything. they just need to know all the medication you take so they can see the full picture when it comes to your health. I would just tell your doc you are taking testosterone. Your insurance wont know they dont see the doctors notes that he/she takes during the exam.
