Forwarded package from changed address; how long to arrive?

Yo, so I changed my address on USPS and a pack took longer than expected from a source to arrive (no worries as this was not sources fault). Anyways, I received tracking and saw that pack was attempted to be delivered at my old address but saw “alert, forwarded” meaning the pack is now being forwarded to my new address which is literally 15 minutes from my old address.

My question is does anyone know if this process takes a long time for the pack to be forwarded and arrive at my new address given the close proximity? I’m just hoping this doesn’t take a week or longer.

I guess no question is too stupid - it’s returned to the nearest depot within a day usually and from there it takes the usual delivery time from depot to your address, usually a day, at worst two. postal service delivery isn’t magic once it has passed customs.

Thanks lol but not sure why you think this question is stupid… I don’t know the process for USPS mail forwarding and read many things online stating it could take 10 days or longer, but maybe that was for mails and not priority mail packages.
