First Order Questions

So I’m placing a first order soon but am new to bitcoin and crypto-mail so excuse me if this is basic.
  1. Do I need PGP? I have a protonmail account but am still confused on how pgp works and when it is necessary.
  2. Can I transfer bitcoin directly from coinbase to my source or is there some kind of go-between I need to do?
Thanks guys. I apologize if this is redundant or explained in the wiki but I read it and might just have shit reading comprehension.

Don’t need PGP. I believe if an email is sent from proton to proton it is automatically encrypted. Someone can correct me if I’m wrong. Also sign up for Tutanota in case a source uses that service. I always try to send using the same email the source uses. And never send coin straight to a source from coinbase. Send from coinbase to an anonymous wallet then to source.

Thanks for the help man. The source I was going to use uses countermail, which I noticed is a pay service, but I guess I can sign up for an account.

Also what is the justification behind using a private wallet? Seems sort of excessive. Hopefully not also a pay service.

I’ve used ProtonMail for a while, never had a problem communicating with sources. All the emails are automatically encrypted, I wouldn’t waste my money on a paid service when it is unneeded.

The point of a private wallet is so you aren’t sending your coins directly to a source. If CoinBase thinks you are buying coins for illegal transactions, they can ban you permanently. Then, it is much harder and more inefficient to buy coins for your transactions, which is a hassle.
