Experience with Telmisartan

Anyone on here have experience with telmisartan? I’m trying to get my BP in range (resting is around 139/84). I started taking the telmisartan about 2 nights ago at 40mgs and I was wondering how long it takes to work. Is it same day or does it take a couple weeks?

Also when do you take your telmisartan? I read a study that showed improved outcomes from taking BP meds before bed, so that is what I have been doing.

Telmisartan is great b/c it provides bp protection for 24 hours, you can take it anytime you want.

You should start noticing effects after a week. It’s a great drug and should be an alternative to first-course treatment with lisinopril.

Good luck

@pua_rachahca Happy to hear this. I have still been having higher blood pressure and it is starting to worry me. Was considering trying a more powerful BP med…

Telmisartan is a truly underrated drug in our community, since not only does it help lower BP, but there are a good amount of experiments and data out there that suggest it has a positive effect on longevity, all while having a very low incidence of negative side effects.

@apexalab this is pretty much what I’ve gathered from my research… it seems to be one of if not the better choices for lower BP with minimal sides effects… or issues down the road… and having your blood pressure in range or lower end of tje range will add years to your life and to your organs… and.your quality of life on a day.to day basis when you aren’t having high bp…
