Energy issues?

Basically my whole life I get days where Im super tired and can’t focus and its even hard to just watch tv. I’ve eaten healthy, experimented with different calorie intakes, and thought maybe the test would help. I still get super lethargic and I’m wondering if it could just be some sort of sleep apnea?
Maybe someone can chime in if they experienced something similar.

Check your thyroid levels and check your iron levels. Also get a sleep study.
what he said. this is a good starting point.

Could be anything, but there’s smart watches out there that can estimate if you have sleep apena or not. An obvious sign you might have it is your neck size. Those that have it (but not always) tend to have really thick necks and usually overweight. Also snoring.

I have a super super fat tongue that seems to always seems to block airflow so I think its the most likely culprit.

Ive had a similar problem all my life, but I think it is more in my head than a body thing if that makes sense.I don’t have great ins. so limited but I do use adderall it works great but don’t use everyday because it looses its effect and when you don’t take it your energy level will drop even more than it was. If your looking to get a script you have to be diagnosed with ADD. which is easy.I use very little 15mgs when I’m having a bad day.

Thick neck gang here - shitty sleeper for life!

Headed for a sleep study in a little over a week.

Look into adrenal fatigue as well. There are some vitamin deficiencies that can cause lots of the same sleep/rest issues as sleep apnea. I think a vast majority of us here will experience this at some point due to how hard we push our bodies/minds.
Update me on results please. Also, I had tried adderall before it doesn’t help with the energy. I think if you legit don’t get real sleep theres nothing you can do about it. Kind of like when you take caffeine and you can feel the body buzz but you’re still too tired to do anything.

Test helped with my energy issues, but what’s helped most is managing my caffeine intake, staying away from my food intolerances (milk, eggs, wheat etc) and getting my methylated B vitamin intake up. Don’t try to depend on ephedra either, use it sparingly during cuts

Caffeine is definitely a trigger for me but I lean on it due to poor sleep quality. I bought some boojie ass Adrenal Supplement on Amazon and while I usually write that shit off as snake oil, the increase in dreams over the last few nights at least lets me know I am getting some REM sleep unlike before. In addition to that, I find myself getting sleepy (heavy eyes, yawning, desire to lay down) around 9pm each evening. This is out of the norm for me as I usually force myself to shower and go lay down until I fall asleep.

Only a few days in to taking it so we’ll see over the next two weeks whether it fades away as the placebo effect disappears or if it is truly working.
Do you have a link for that? I’m prescribed Ambien but I’ve built up a tolerance for it the past couple years. My doctor won’t give me a longer than a 30 day supply and I refuse to take benzos (which would be the next step up).

I have issues falling asleep as well, I usually have to take benzos to knock out instantly. How is the adrenal working?

It sounds to me like you’ve already gotten some good advice. Your obvious best bet is to start with a workup by an MD. There are a plethora of different reasons that people suffer with insomnia. If you aren’t able to identify the cause with obvious things like sleep schedule, stimulant intake, stress, etc. , then the reason may possibly lie in your bloodwork as someone else has already mentioned. A thickened tongue could surely put you at risk for obstructive sleep apnea, but unless you have a sleep study done it’s hard to tell exactly how much stress your apnea is causing to your body. You however can have someone watch you while you sleep and count how many seconds your apneic episodes last and how many of them occur within a given time frame to give you a bit of a baseline on how severe your problem is. One of the more important perameters in that scenario is how low and for how long your O2 saturation drops during apneic episodes. The captain obvious thing is that you’ll eventually need to identify and treat the underlying cause instead of throwing pills at the issue to treat the symptom.

Deployed 3 times and have a horrible time sleeping, even with the benzo’s they give me… I also wake up 3+x a night and my wife says I can be violent when asleep… Been 8 months of low dose test cyp 150mg a week, lots of cardio and “functional” or just body wieght routine… I’m going to run a test/deca cycle but feel it’s pointless as I feel tired and not strong at all at the gym… Any ideas? I also weigh more now after 8 months of no real lifting,5’8" 210, normal weight when race ready is 175-180 at 15+%bf, I keep my bf higher for when I run ultra marathons or iron Man comps… Advice/comments welcome… Let the beating commence…

I suffered from exactly the same thing 2 years ago. I made two changes at the same time, I got better, so I don’t know if it was one or the other, or both.
  1. Adrenal fatigue: I was taking a lot of preworkout every workout day for months. All that caffeine and other stimulants made my adrenal glands work too hard for too long and I felt exactly like you. I stopped taking any kind of stimulants for a solid year, I feel way better now.
  2. Sleep apnea: I had all the symptoms. Snoring, suddenly waking up gasping for air, slept 10 hours a night yet woke up more tired than I was the night before. I bought an automatic cpap machine off Amazon for $500, best decision I ever made that year. I felt a huge difference after the first night of using it.

I had a boss who finally did the sleep study and got diagnosed with sleep apnea. Getting a CPAP machine to sleep with literally “changed his life” and his only regret was not doing it sooner. He said he would “run into a wall” around 2:30-3:00 in the afternoon and was just about done at that point. Another manager I’ve worked for can’t keep the machine on his face to save his life. Wakes up to find the mask ripped off his face. Doesn’t remember doing it, either.

The bear gets me up 2-3 times a night. Can’t leave any pizza out on the oven or she thinks she needs to go potty every 2 hours for a chance at a bite of pizza. Shitter. I can wake up and go back to sleep pretty easily so its no big deal.

If you’re having energy issues i would recommend getting a liver function test. My liver enzymes were all elevated 3-4x normal levels after my last blast. I was tired all the time, appetite was fucked and just felt shitty overall. They all went back to normal and I decided to get back on just test and tren for the beginning of my blast and within a month my liver enzymes were elevated again. Cant hurt to get your liver checked because you cant live without it.

Same thing with me, literally changed my life using this simple machine. I didn’t do any sleep studies though. Didn’t need to, I had all the symptoms, so I bought it off of Amazon and it was on my doorstep the next day. Fuck sleep studies and doctor prescriptions, I don’t need a doctor’s permission to make my life better.

For the guy who takes it off at night while sleeping, I would do that too every few nights, and I found that by adjusting the velcro straps to make the nasal pillow not too tight but not too loose solved the problem. Also, make sure the machine is close enough to the bed so the hose has enough slack to move around with you.
