Difference Between Miglyol 840 and MCT Oil

Can someone please explain the difference between these two carrier oils?

I recently ordered a product that was in MCT oil and seemed to have a bad reaction to it. I have used, and am currently using, products in Miglyol 840 and I love the stuff.

I looked up Miglyol 840 on PubChem and it seems to just be MCT oil with carbon chains in 8 and 10 carbon lengths. I am just curious as I am interested in purchasing some high concentrated compounds to replace the ones I am almost out of and it is in MCT oil and do not want to end up with unusable oil.

Have you considered that your bad reaction might be to some other aspect of the MCT product? I remember having a discussion about rare cases where you can actually have an intolerance/allergic reaction to just one of them due to the specific structural differences between MCT/Mig 812 and 840 but cannot find it via the search - so while that’s not the first aspect I would consider, it’s not impossible.
