Controversial Question - My wife and I have a 12 yr. old boy and there is nothing wrong with him. He really wants to be tall both for athletics and general anesthetics. Selfishly, as a parent, my wife and I would like to see him/help him grow to his genetic potential. I am 6 ft tall, but my wife is barely 5 ft. My wife's entire family is short, and I am the tallest that I know of in our family's' last 3 generations.

From almost everything i have read, hgh is generally considered safe for children if taken responsibly. Side effects were similar to that of any other otc medication. I understand this type of intervention for "normal sized" kids is more common for more affluent families. With that said, I have ordered hgh for me through these sites (that show their testing) with good results. However, I also understand this is different for kids.

I would love to get some feedback...even if it is negative.... but please no personal insults (not constructive). Has anyone ever considered this for their kids or would you consider if you had kids? How would you start a program for your kid (other than 'see a doctor'). I performed a search to see if this topic has been brought up before on SST but did not see anything.

Thanks in advance.

Get his GH tested at a doctors office. The dosage that doctors give to kids is pretty high. Honestly I would just feed him more protein and try to boost the levels naturally. I wouldn’t do this to my own son even though growing to be 5ft 9 killed his daddy’s hoop dreams.

Omg, if my wife reads this she will make me go through with it. Son is a hugh Messi fan too. Thx 4 sharing brother...
It's tough right. You want to give your kids every opportunity to be successful and whatever they do. But what cost? In my mind helping them attain a normal height to be competitive is not out of the question if they want to be an athlete. Is it borderline doping/Ped use? Really interesting issue. Hope your family figures out the right solution for yourselves

I don’t have kids so I really don’t know what it’s like from that stand point but I’m 5’11” and if my parents had doped me while younger I could’ve possibly been 6’1” even I would’ve been grateful as fuck that they did.

I don't know if I would suggest giving him gh, definitely speak to a dr. But one thing I can say worth noting is that estrogen promotes epiphyseal fusion (when the bones can no longer grow taller). So getting his bloodwork done regularly especially throughout the next coming years is worth it. Making sure his e2 (get the ultrasensitive e2 test) is not elevated would be worthwhile.

As a 5’7 adult, I grew up being Central Texas champion in folkstyle wrestling for years. There’s sports for everyone. And I’ve never been turned been turned down by a chick for being too short (they also make them shorter than 5’7). Let him grow up without that stuff, man.

He's 12. Let him get through puberty. He's still got some growing to do.

Kids have big mouths. You don't want it getting around you're shooting your kid up.

Also nutrition is different. I'm the tallest from generations of 5ft-ers. Don't let him dwell on being tall. There's more important things in life than being 6'2.

I have been considering this myself when/if my son reaches age 15 (plan to try MK-677 since it's a secretagogue). As a psychologist, I know that research indicates males over the height of 6"tend to make significantly more money and more likely to be promoted over their shorter male counterparts. I blame the ADHD medications I was on as a child for inhibiting my appetite and leading to my short adult stature (standing only 5'7" - and being "the runt" of my family), I've always wish I'd have grown taller (and believe i had the genetic potential(, however, my ex has my 10 y/o on similar medications (and I can tell it kills my sons appetite), so this is my plan to circumvent this by the time he reaches into puberty. However, I will also have labs done for him and try and exercise some caution for the sake of his health. But if the science is available to enhance genetic potential is there and safe - Why Not take full advantage?! I'd say wait til he's a bit older and go for it in my opinion - I wish I could have everyday.
