Anyone have experience with PEDs and the antidepressant venlafaxine (effexor/vensir etc)? Or any experiences with other SNRIs

I've found limited experiences, noted interactions or research detailing interactions between PEDs and venlafaxine so I was wondering if anyone had any experience themselves of running a cycle while on this antidepressant

There are case studies indicating venlafaxine reduces natural test levels and studies showing increased aromatisation, so I guess AI is even more important, but apart from that I can't find much

ive been on lexapro since before using gear and never had an issue with aromatization. ive ran cycles with almost no ai and been absolutely fine, i think its just dependent on the person like it would be even without the ssri
mental sides could be worse or better but i wouldnt know because ive never ran gear off the ssris

Haven't mixed the two but sometimes peds make me depressed. Probly would frown upon certain combos while on anti depressants

When I was younger I was taking Effexor among some others while running pro-hormone cycles when that trend was around. Some of the cycles I ran worsened it and higher anxiety levels but I’m not sure about lowering testosterone levels but it makes sense being depressed the more stress so the higher cortisol levels also can increase the prolactin levels. Cortisol inhibits the activity of the hypothalamic pituitary gonadal axis (HPG axis) and is antagonistic to testosterone, blocking androgen receptors which can block testosterone. There’s hyperprolactinemia, which induces hypogonadism, the excess prolactin interferes with secretion of gonadotropin-releasing hormone, resulting in decreased testosterone

Medications such as antidepressants opiates benzodiazepines, even thc can affect GH levels, increase cortisol, and prolactin, effecting testosterone levels.
Most pain medications in the warning labels of medications show hormone levels as a side effect.

Damn that's a fucked up story. Those types of drugs definitely fuck with people's heads, but I feel your dad's friend was likely just a sick fuck and it had nothing to do with the drug.

Id agree on not taking these types of medications. They've done me more harm than good. I tried a bunch of different ones at my doctor's mercy and they've even made me feel worse so I quit. A little bit of the devil's lettuce I've found to be pretty helpful in times of anxiety.
