Hey everybody, glad to see I'm not the only one whos interested in this path! I'm entirely new to AAS and probably need clarification on a few things. I've done quite a bit of research but I know theres much, MUCH more to learn. Anyway, thanks for having me here bros.

My current question(s):

Q: Can AAS be used as a shortcut to natty potential? I've only come across a few articles and some say yes some say no. Probably a dumb question.

Q: Blood work entirely necessary? And at what intervals during a cycle? I'm planning Test E only cycle, still piecing together a decent PCT for a first.

Thanks for everyone's input!

It CAN but that doesn’t mean that’s a good path to take.

How long have you been training? Height/weight? Bodyfat percentage? And age?

Yes. Bloodwork is absolutely necessary. Add that into the costs.

Get baseline bloodwork now

Get bloodwork 6 weeks into the cycle

Get bloodwork 6-8 weeks after the cycle

You don’t always have to test for everything. But this is how you monitor your health. Taking PEDs is a risk and bloodwork allows you to evaluate/minimize that risk.

Super grateful for the reply! I'm 6'0, my body fat percentage is currently 20%. I weigh 190. And I've been training relatively consistently for the last few years. I'm 24.

Training “relatively”… can mean what?
And “last few years”…. is pretty general.

24 is too young. Your natural testosterone levels are at their highest of your life. Why spoil a good thing like that if your goals are just vanity driven?

Be patient. Get those natural gains. You can maximize them by nailing your diet and training down (that itself takes most guys a few years). If you can do that, then the gains that you make on PEDs will be monumental. Diet and training represent 2/3 of the equation. There’s no reason to focus on the drugs if those only represent 1/3 (less if you don’t know how to use them).

You’d be better off reading anything and everything. Really put the effort in and then play the PED card. You’ll be happier with the results.

I second this for sure. I believe this is one of the best pieces of advice someone can receive when deciding whether or not to go down the path of using PEDs. Especially when the thing making you consider them in the first place is a vanity driven goal. Not saying that is necessarily a bad thing but you must determine if everything that comes with embarking down this path is worth your end goal or if it is even necessary.

Going back to your question on bloodwork I would say I agree with BBBG on that as well. Always monitor and take your health seriously. Get a blood pressure monitoring machine as well if you do decide to start. It is often overlooked but something very important to keep an eye on.

In my experience, yes they helped me reach natty potential much faster than I would have without AAS. These things work. I was lucky enough not to aromatize heavily or have negative health impacts with a higher body fat percentage than you at about the same age running the same cycle you’re about to run. I did however eat extremely clean and learned how to count calories, running maintenance calories I did a recomp like no other and haven’t put that fat back on since. I’m not experienced with PCT as I’ll be on TRT for life because my natural levels were low at 26. which made going through with the decision to use AAS’s easier, had my natural levels been sufficient I may or may not have accepted the risks.

Like no other? How were your results?

6’2, 220lbs starting point at 23% body fat. 20 weeks at 500mg/week test e (I started at 200mg/week and increased by 100mg every 3 weeks until I reached 500mg), I ended at 227lbs 14% body fat. I was very untrained when I started. Not at all recommending anyone do this, however nobody on any forum could’ve talked me out of it so why not share my actual experience. Using steroids has kept me motivated to stay in the gym consistently for two and half years when in the past I’d fizzle out after 3/4 months. I realize I’m fortunate to have not had any issues thus far
