So I just switched jobs and will be traveling in the car…a lot. I’ll have no access to a microwave or even a proper table 90% of the time. I’m looking for ideas on what I can prep and still get all my macros/micros while being ultra convenient. There’s obvious things like veggie/protein in a tortilla wrap, but that will get old very fast, especially because the thought of eating cold protein is gag-inducing. Anyone have a similar situation, and what are some of your go-tos?

egg white french toast w/ low carb bread and strawberries. I sometimes mix minimal amounts of water with whey to make a ‘syrup’

toast travels well - i just nuke it so its warm again

I make my own chili using lean beef and eat that with a side of rice or bread.

Ready to get flamed, but what about high quality protein bars and shakes? Not saying just eat these, but as a supplement so you don’t have to bring as much perishable food in the car with you.

Could get a couple insulated metal bottles and store hot soups/etc in them, saw Stan Efferding do this with his monster mash and it looks good af

The monster mash would actually be good for your digestion as well. Keep you from getting constipated from sitting in a vehicle. I’d just use an instant brown rice instead of white for fiber.

Bad thing about protein bars is that they almost always have sugar. I’d avoid sugar on my teeth sitting in a car unless you want to rot your teeth, you can get some sugarless gum to help your saliva to clean your teeth, but I’d make a habit of avoiding sugar products if you can’t find products that are sugar free.

Second the insulated thermos. Just heat up your food in the morning and store in the thermos, keeps it hot for hours. Don’t be afraid to throw in a shake or two.

Hey, congrats on the new gig! When I was on the road, I prepped hearty salads with grilled chicken, greens, and cherry tomatoes - all in a spill-proof container. For variety, throw in whole-grain crackers or a piece of fruit. It kept me fueled during my travels. However, I stopped by some sweet spots on the way. Btw, if you ever find yourself in Dublin, Ireland, try out this amazing spot called "The Revolution" (therevolution.ie). It's a gem! Safe travels!
