I'd like to introduce myself to this group. I'm 64, 6'1" and weigh 192lbs. 16 months ago I weighed 240 and was in the worst physical condition of my life after coming off of 10 years of surgeries, including knee replacement surgery, c5/c6 disc replacement surgery and others. At this point I stopped drinking after a 52-year run and lost 15 pounds over the next year. On April 1st of this year I weighed 225 and decided to join some friends with the 75 day hard challenge. Something clicked within me and soon I was doing cardio at 5am and lifting weights with a coach at noon, 6 days a week (I'm on a split cycle). I was at 35% body fat at this point and had a challenging road ahead. I went on 1300-1600 calorie a day diet while ingesting 180 grams of protein a day. It was incredibly hard at times to keep this pace up at that level of calories. I know I gained muscle and lost fat and will be getting another DEXA scan next week to get a new baseline.

My goal is to gain 15-20 pounds of muscle mass, get down to 10-15 % body fat and basically develop a kick ass body by my 65th birthday next April.

I had already been on TRT for 10+ years and in June I went from 200MG every other week to 200MG weekly injections. In July when I was at 205 lbs, I started on Tirzepatide to help with my high protein, low calorie fat loss diet. Two weeks ago, I decided I’d had enough, and I pivoted to a bulk phase. My trainer provided me with 250ML of DECA to add to my “stack”. So now I am taking 200MG Test, 250MG DECA, Creatine and daily Cialis. I increased my calories to 2500 day and increased my protein intake to 225 grams daily.

My blood work is fantastic at this point and I’m getting quarterly blood tests. (I told my primary care doctor that I am doing this and would like his support for the blood work). My biggest challenge is I don’t know what I am doing in the world of gear and peptides. I’ve got a torn rotator cuff and have been looking at BPC 157 & TB500. I definitely want to increase my testosterone levels and add another steroid to the bulk and next cut phase. I am doing a ton of research on what that steroid should be for bulking and cutting. As you guys know, there are a million opinions out there. I plan on using Tirzepatide on my next cut, but that will be in 3-4 months.

Anyway, looking forward to learning more on this site and interacting with others.

I'll find out in 4 days with a DEXA scan. I cannot imagine my body fat being lower than 20-25%. At 225LB and 35% body fat I had 78 pounds of fat. I am now at 192 and at 25% body fat I would have 48 pounds of fat which would mean I lost 30 pounds of fat over the past 3 months. I would be ecstatic with this result. I am also getting a resting metobolic rate test done in two weeks and a heart calcium scan just to be as safe as possible.

First, congratulations on the fat loss. You’ve made great progress.

Now the part you don’t want to hear. Food determines “bulk” or “cut”, not the drugs. You still have fat to lose before you start a “bulk”, otherwise you’re going to be spinning your wheels and it’ll take much longer to reach your goals.

“Bulk” means a calorie surplus. “Cut” means calorie deficit”. Those terms don’t have any meaning in drug choice.

Stay in your calorie deficit until you reach 10% to 15%. Then “bulk”. You’ll have much better results.

I agree. I'm pretty sure my maintenance calories is around 3000 calories a day. I am doing 30 minutes of HiiT in the morning and an hour and 15 minutes of intense weight training at noon, six days a week. I have increased my calories from 1300-1600 a day to 2300-2500 a day so I am on a calorie deficit. I'll know more once I get my RPR study done. So, for me, adding 1000 calories a day seems like a "bulk" phase. But the 1300-1600 a day was unsustainable....
