20mg is really going to do fuck all unless you're already super lean. 25mg was my least effective dose at 6'2/190/9% for what that's worth, though I saw it kick in with more teeth at 50mg and shine at 75mg.
Var with absolutely fuck your lipids up, I suggest plenty of water and some NAC if you're worried. I also suggest doing the 40mg for 4 weeks to kick start the cycle. I'd just bump the dose and ride it. IMO you're just going to be hammering your system with enough bad shit to throw levels off while not getting near enough of the benefit and all being out the $$ since var is apparently fucking gold right meow.
I started with trt for 2 years and got into shape, then started 'enhanced trt' with just some var and then went into the blast and cruise. Just be smart and take your time. It's a marathon.
